CARVEXA legal documents

Auction Terms

Rules for vehicles sold through CARVEXA auctions.

Draft — prepared by CARVEXA for review by a qualified South African legal practitioner. It outlines our intended approach and must not be relied on as final legal advice until reviewed.

1. Who runs the auction

Auctions on CARVEXA are run by the listing organisation or dealership, which acts as the auction seller of record. CARVEXA provides the platform, countdown, bidding feed, watchlists and settlement workflow — CARVEXA is not the auctioneer of record.

2. Bidding

  • Bids are binding commitments to buy at the amount bid if you win.
  • Bidders must be registered CARVEXA users; bidding under false identity is prohibited.
  • The closing time shown governs; auctions may settle automatically at close.

3. Winning and settlement

The highest qualifying bid at close wins. Payment is made through the auction's stated settlement process; never pay into personal accounts. Handover arrangements are between buyer and seller organisation, with CARVEXA facilitating communication.

4. Removal and disputes

The seller organisation may cancel a draft/live auction only in line with these terms; bids, cancellations and settlements are audit-logged. Disputes are handled under the General Terms.
