CARVEXA legal documents

Independent Seller Terms

Specific terms for verified individuals selling on CARVEXA, including on behalf of organisations.

Draft — prepared by CARVEXA for review by a qualified South African legal practitioner. It outlines our intended approach and must not be relied on as final legal advice until reviewed.

1. Eligibility

Independent sellers must complete identity document verification and live facial verification, and must represent themselves accurately (their own name and identity) — CARVEXA does not allow anonymous commercial selling.

2. 🚨 CARVEXA payment safety

Unless explicitly enabled through an approved CARVEXA transaction workflow, independent sellers may not instruct buyers to pay money into personal bank accounts or accept cash, deposits or payments on behalf of an organisation. Attempting to move a buyer's payment off-platform or into a personal account triggers a high-risk payment warning to both parties and a flag for review. This is one of CARVEXA's core anti-fraud controls.

3. Selling on behalf of an organisation

  • You may only list, market or sell an organisation's vehicles while you hold an active authorisation for that organisation with the required permissions.
  • The organisation is shown as the vehicle owner; you are shown as an authorised representative — never as the owner unless you actually own the vehicle.
  • You must stay within your permission level (Marketing Agent, Sales Agent or Authorised Sales Representative).
  • The organisation can suspend or revoke your authorisation at any time; once revoked you may no longer act for it.

4. Conduct and accuracy

Represent vehicles accurately, never misstate your authority, never change vehicle or pricing information without the permissions you hold, protect buyer information and follow both CARVEXA's rules and the organisation's lawful instructions.

5. Audit records

Every material action (listing created, price changed, enquiry answered, offer submitted) is recorded in the audit trail with your identity, the organisation, the vehicle and the timestamp. Audit records protect you as much as everyone else.
